ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Answers incoming calls, meeting daily quotas.
Screens orders received for price and potential errors.
Enters faxed orders into computer system.
Informs customer of prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
Attempts to sell additional merchandise to customer.
Sets up new customers or potential accounts into computer system after screening and obtaining proper documentation.
Obtains sales tax number and method of payment from new customers.
Writes up order form or enters data into computer, to determine total cost for customer.
Computes price, discount, and shipping charges.
Checks inventory and notifies Inventory Control Department of orders that would deplete stock.
Routes orders to departments for filling and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
Records or files copy of orders received according to expected delivery date.
Receives calls and assists customers with any complaints.
Confers with production, sales, shipping, or warehouse personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
Works as a team to support and process ordered for the outside sales force.
Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTSupports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures.
Actively participates in the safety program by:
engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when an employee sees a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved.
Assists with communicating safety information to new employees.
Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the natural foods industry is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust have excellent computer skills, including good data entry skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
