Summary:
The Peer Recovery Specialist assists patients with substance use conditions through peer support and coaching, consumer advocacy, linkages to recovery and other community services, and outreach in the community for re- engagement.
The Peer Recovery Specialist works with patients using a trauma informed, harm reduction, patient centered approach to care, encouraging the empowerment of patients in their own recovery journeys.
Core Job
Responsibilities:
Provide peer recovery support to patients through every phase of the recovery journey form pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
Facilitate through one-to-one coaching the transition from a professionally directed service plan to a self-directed Recovery Plan by assisting patients to identify and communicate goals throughout their recovery to the care team.
Support patients identified goals, through assisting their linkage to recovery and other community resources.
Assist patients in developing empowerment skills and combatting stigma through self-advocacy with treatment team, family, the community and connecting with resources.
Assist patient in connecting and sustaining connection with community self-help recovery resources.
Assist patients with independent living skills and resources including housing, schooling, and employment Provide consistent outreach to patients in need of re-engagement contact with their permission Documentation of all patient encounters in EHR according to ACCESS standards Perform other duties as assigned Requirements/Preferences High School Diploma or GED required Lived Experience with Substance Use Disorder required Past or present consumer of substance use disorder or mental health services with a history of managing one's recovery required History of employment full or part-time in the past three years with at least 12 continuous months successful employment required Knowledge of the Recovery Process and Recovery Resources Certified Recovery Specialist, preferred A minimum one year's experience as a peer recovery specialist, preferred #ind1 We don't discriminate for any reason.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
